| I have a degree from a Bible College, but one of the graduate schools which I wish to attend will not accept my degree because they do not recognize the accreditation of my alma mater. I desire to study medicine. Is there a way to use my existing degree while taking courses at HCC in order to meet the requirements of the graduate school? (90 hours from a state school) In other words, will HCC consider giving credit for my existing degree and include these credits as transfer hours along with the courses I take at HCC? I have already checked and the UT system schools will accept any credits taken from the HCCS. Thank you, Jeff Cokenour | Jeff, It depends on if the Bible School that you attended is an accredited institution. If it is not, then the classes will not be transferable to HCC. This is a general rule for most colleges. The UT system does take credit from our institution because we are accredited. Most of the classes that you take here at HCC will transfer to UT. My suggestion would be to check to see if the Bible School is accredited and by whom. Most schools are accredited by someone but it will need to be a recognized agency of education. We apologize for the inconvenience. David Student Services Associate Online Student Services Team http://studentservicesonline.hccs.edu |
